Jamie Donaldson is a Level 3 certified personal trainer in Aberdeen, specialising in weight loss, muscle tone and development, and injury prevention and rehabilitation. Based at PureGym Aberdeen Altens and serving Aberdeen, Cove Bay, and Kincorth, he runs JAD Fitness — a coaching service built on three things: structure, energy, and someone who actually has your back.

Jamie's been chasing his limits in the gym since he was a teenager, and that drive is exactly what he brings to every client he works with. The difference is, he's not just running you through someone else's programme — he's spent two years earning an HNC in Fitness, Health and Exercise, and he's about to start year three of a BSc in Sports Science.

"My job isn't to shout at you for an hour. It's to make sure you walk out of every session knowing you got better at something."

His training style is high-energy and varied: think functional bodyweight circuits, focused strength work, and the occasional curveball to keep things interesting. Sessions are tailored to you — not a template — whether your goal is dropping body fat, building real muscle, recovering from an injury, or just finally feeling at home in the gym. Do I need any gym experience to train with you?
No, you don't need any gym experience at all. I tailor every session to your current fitness level and build your confidence from the very first session — most of my clients walked in nervous and walked out smiling. We go at your pace, always.
Where are sessions held?
Sessions are held at PureGym Aberdeen Altens (Unit B, Wellington Circle, AB12 3QW). The gym has full equipment, free parking, and is a short drive from Aberdeen city centre, Cove Bay, and Kincorth.
How much does personal training cost?
Pricing depends on your goals and how often you'd like to train. Message me on WhatsApp and I'll send a personalised quote — your first consultation is always free, with absolutely no commitment.
What if I'm coming back from an injury?
Injury rehab is one of my specialist areas. I'll work with you (and where appropriate, with your physio) to build a programme that rebuilds strength safely and progressively — you'll never feel pushed past where you are right now.
How long until I see results?
Most clients feel noticeably stronger and more energised within 2–3 weeks. Visible body composition changes typically show from week 6 onwards, provided you stay consistent with sessions and follow the nutrition guidance I provide.
Are you a qualified personal trainer?
Yes — I hold a Certified Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification, an HNC in Fitness, Health and Exercise, and I'm currently completing year three of a BSc Sports Science degree. All qualifications are current and verified.
